Now that we’re into the summer season, our thoughts turn to cooking up tasty and healthy dishes for family and friends, dining outdoors and giving the kitchen a bit of an uplift for the sunshine-filled months ahead. On a hot day, no one wants to be stuck indoors over a hot stove but if the weather does take a turn, Rangemaster has everything you need to sizzle up mouth-watering meals in minutes.
So, let’s start with freshening up those worksurfaces with some smart new small appliances. Rangemaster’s Classic Kettle and Toaster in Mineral Green are the perfect pick-me-up for any kitchen décor. The serene green design is ideal for bringing a sense of the outside in, adding a touch of nature to your surfaces while also giving you the very latest technology with classic styling.
The 3kW kettle features quick and quiet boiling and a generous 1.7 litre capacity as well as a perfect pour drip-free spout, large water gauge and carry handle for safe and easy handling.
The matching toaster comes in a two or four-slice design with long slots for different bread thicknesses and sizes for even toasting, six browning levels, a bagel feature and dual settings so everyone can have their toast just as they like it. You can also defrost bread direct from the freezer and use the cancel and reheat function to have your toast ready at the same time as your avocado and eggs.
It’s also a great time to sort through kitchen cupboards and pan drawers and replace any worn-out pots and pans or add to your existing collection. Rangemaster has a great selection of saucepans and frying pans, including this 16cm saucepan with glass lid and 28cm non-stick frying pan, as used by chef, restaurateur and author Thuy Pham (@chef_thuy_pham) in her own kitchen. You can see how Thuy has transformed her stunning kitchen using Rangemaster appliances and products here and try out some of her delicious recipes here.
The GEO Intense 4-in-1 hot water tap in brushed brass is also a great update for any kitchen. Delivering instant steaming hot 98˚C water for hot drinks and cooking as well as crystal clear filtered water and domestic hot and cold, it’s ideal for topping up drinks and cracking on with the cooking, without having to wait around for the kettle to boil or buying single-use plastic bottles – a win-win for time-saving and helping to save the planet.
Now you’ve refreshed the kitchen with Rangemaster, it’s also a good time to plan ahead in case the great British weather puts a pause on that summer barbecue.
Rangemaster’s Sit on Griddle Plate is the perfect solution. It’s designed to fit neatly over the two burners of your Rangemaster cooker with a half ribbed, half smooth griddle plate design that’s perfect for beautifully seared salmon and steaks with a drip channel to catch any cooking liquid.
The Teppanyaki Grill is great for sausages and burgers and is also designed to slot perfectly over two burners on your Rangemaster cooker. Made from lightweight cast aluminium, it has a large cooking surface with drip tray and is robust, durable and easy to clean with a non-stick coating.
If you enjoy cooking speedy stir-fries, Rangemaster’s Wok Ring and 35cm Non-Stick Wok are the ultimate combination. The wok ring keeps the 35cm wok stable when cooking and fits all Rangemaster cooker models except the Elan and Leckford designs.
To give other areas of your kitchen a refresh, we’ve picked some of our favourite looks for summer 2024…
Use Annie Sloan Kitchen Chalk Paint to revamp a tired and unloved piece of wooden cabinetry such as an armoire, larder, pantry or sideboard. We love this Whistler Grey shade and there’s no need to sand or prime the furniture beforehand – simply apply the paint and you’ll have a brand new look in no time.
Lift your lighting with the Zowie recycled glass pendant from Nkuku. Made from ribbed glass with handcrafted brass fittings, it complements all styles and colours of kitchen and looks stunning hung over the dining table or island. The Recycled Glass Dome Cake Stand is also just the thing for serving up some delicious homemade lemon drizzle.
Speaking of kitchen islands, when was the last time you freshened up your bar stools? A smart new upholstered design will do wonders for a tired kitchen scheme and we love the Ella stool from Gabriella James, Chairmakers. Made to order, it’s shown upholstered in Buriam in Lime by Penny Morrison and Helene by Anna Jeffreys.
And finally, give walls some love with a fresh lick of paint. We think these soft shades of Bunny Hop, Splashing and Flora’s Tale from Earthborn are absolutely delicious and perfect for a summer refresh.
