Marown Electricals for your complete kitchen solutions.

Marown Electricals is the trade name of Marown TV Ltd. We are a proud Manx company and have seen some huge changes since it was founded in 1966, most recently the rebranding to Marown Electricals.

Our principles remain firm, and that is to adhere to the old-age principle of providing first class quality service to our customers. With knowledgeable sales staff on hand to advise and assist you, it is their aim to provide you with all the information you require to make an informed decision before buying. They are in turn backed up by a delivery team who provide a courteous and efficient service. That’s not the end of our interest; we ensure that our high standard of service and professionalism continues after your products have been delivered.

It was back in 1966 when Lewin Thornton founded the original business, then known as Marown Television & Radio Services. As a fully skilled Radio & TV engineer, he initially worked alone, carrying out radio repairs from a backroom of what was then, the local Post Office and Grocery Shop and also the family home.

He gradually expanded the business and entered the new world of TV rentals. The business developed and in 1973 Lewin invited his stepson in-law Dave Leatherbarrow to join him. Dave brought huge experience in the key areas of office administration and management, and took control of the business, following Lewin’s failing health. Three years later the company was given a major overhaul and the name was changed to Marown TV Ltd.

Following major showroom expansion in 1991 the company became a member of Europe’s largest independent buying group Euronics. This expansion meant the introduction of white goods to the business, and we stock an extensive range of freestanding and built in appliances, along with Range Cookers.

Dave retired in 2008 and the new generation of management took over. The business is now run by Linda Watterson who joined the company as an office junior in 1977, together with Andy Bowers as retail director.

2013 seen us expand the business with the opening of a branch in Ramsey. This is managed by Linda Kermeen who lives and was educated in Ramsey. She has valuable experience of the retail industry and her primary focus is good customer care.

Most recently we have extended our built-in appliance range with our products expertly fitted in kitchen displays supplied by DKW Installation http://www.kitchensynk.co.uk

We do so much more than sell televisions and whilst having our new website developed, thought the time was right time to rebrand as Marown Electricals.

We offer a relaxed and enjoyable buying environment in our large spacious showroom, not appreciated until you step inside. It is often commented that our showroom is like a Tardis!
