I’ve always been a fan of the colour blue in all its different hues, tones and subtle shades, so I was really excited when Dulux announced Denim Drift as its 2017 Colour of the Year. The brand’s team of global colour and design experts develop their annual forecast based on emerging trends that shape the way we live. From interior design and architecture to fashion and beauty, through to social and economic influences; the colour trends inform the evolving landscape of our lives.

Dulux Colour and Design Trend Expert Rebecca Williamson says, “Denim Drift is a wonderfully diverse foundation for the 2017 trend palettes, which tells the story of ‘life in a new light’. With denim blue set to dominate the interior and fashion trend agenda for 2017, Denim Drift is the perfect fit to reflect the times we live in, that real desire for simplicity. Designers love it and so do we.”

It’s such a versatile shade – use as a backdrop for pops of vibrant colour, a rich contrast against crisp white or natural timber or even partnered with metallic trends. It’s an especially good colour for the kitchen, too…

Rangemaster has a great choice of range cookers to suit this trend. My favourite is the Elise model in China Blue. In three widths, 90cm, 100cm or 110cm, as well as dual fuel or induction, it offers professional features and functions with high-spec looks to match. Check out the whole collection in the new Rangemaster brochure, which you can view online, download onto your computer, laptop or tablet or even have delivered free of charge to your home.
