Nothing brings family and friends together more than good food and good weather, so as soon as the sun makes an appearance, my thoughts turn to barbecues, summer salads and a splash or two of sparkling wine, all enjoyed alfresco with my loved ones. Whilst I have the portable barbecue on standby, it’s always sensible to have a back-up plan in case the British summer doesn’t quite live up to expectations.
Rangemaster has everything you need to prepare and cook the ultimate feast in the comfort of your own home. A range cooker with plenty of burners and a griddle plate are a chef’s best friend, as you can keep sauces hot on the hob while fish and seafood can be seared to perfection on the griddle. The Classic 90 griddle is non-stick, half smooth and half ribbed for flexible cooking. I can’t wait to try out tuna and spicy beef skewers - for the recipes, go the Rangemaster Owners section of this website. Other benefits of the Classic cooker are the spacious, fully programmable oven, separate grill and high-powered wok burner.

If you do get the chance to cook on the coals outside, a second oven allows you to keep food for guests warm when there isn’t enough space to cook it all at once. Many of Rangemaster’s models feature a tall second oven – the Nexus 90, Classic and Classic Deluxe 90 and 100, Elan 90, Elise 90 and 100, Hi-LITE 90 and 100 and the Kitchener 90 and 100 all have this handy side order. Top chefs such as Gordon Ramsay recommend you pre-cook chicken then simply finish it off on the barbecue so a two-oven range cooker gives you plenty of space to do this.
As well as cooking, you’ll also want to ensure you have the right appliance for cooling, too. Rangemaster has a brand new four-door DxD fridge freezer and an American-style SxS design, which both come with ice and filtered water dispenser and plenty of storage capacity for salads and meat.
In gloss black, cream or stainless steel the A+ rated DxD features a new dispenser design with a mirror finish and intelligent control from a single source, which operates the digital temperature control, ice control, lock and holiday modes as well as advanced sensors that automatically adjust the internal temperature according to the temperature outside – ideal for a baking hot day. Rangemaster’s SxS, as shown below, is also A+ rated for energy efficiency and comes with a generous 550 litre capacity, QuickCool, QuickFreeze and a holiday mode that switches the fridge off without affecting the freezer.
Whatever your plans are this summer, the key to a successful get-together is to not worry about the details – all you need is good food, good company and with any luck, a spot of sunshine.
