Ascot Festival of Food & Wine & Chatsworth Country Fair
Posted by Guest Blogger Wednesday, 16th September 2015
Chatsworth Country Fair
Again, this was such a wonderful event attracting over 100,000 people over the 3 days. The biggest event of its kind in the UK, Chatsworth Country Fair is located in the grounds of the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth House.
Friday saw the wonderful CBeebies presenter, Katy Ashworth, take to the stage in the Rangemaster Cookery Theatre Marquee to the delight of many children, and parents too. There was lots of singing and dancing, followed by ‘Meet & Greets’!
The country’s national treasure, Mary Berry, returned for the third year running. Crowds flocked to the ‘extended’ Aga Rangemaster marquee to see Mary demonstrate some of her favourite, fabulous dishes on Saturday and hear tales of The Great British Bake Off; the huge audiences absolutely loved it.
MasterChef's very own John Torode made his first appearance at Chatsworth, delighting the packed audiences with his amazing dishes, culinary knowledge and fun interaction delivered with his own unique Aussie style!
This truly was a superb 3 day event, where the sun shone and the vast crowds had a day-out to remember.
Ascot Festival of Food & Wine
For the fourth year running, TV Celebrity Chef and Personality James Martin of BBC’s ‘Saturday Kitchen’ headlined the prestigious Food & Wine Festival at Ascot Racecourse on the Saturday, demoing some of his favourite dishes on one of the Rangemaster Cookery Theatres located within the main Grandstand concourse.
Making her headline debut was ‘Queen of Couture Cakes', Mich Turner, who also delighted the racegoers with her amazing creations and decorating skills.
It is the most fabulous event for all racegoers, combining racing with the opportunity to watch some of the country’s fantastic celebrity chefs demonstrate their culinary skills and also try some of the best in local cuisine.
